Brothers,
Please read below a letter from the President of Station 28 Adam Wentworth regarding a serious construction accident his Vice President Jeff Givens was involved in last Thursday
December 1.
Jeff Given from Station 28 was involved in an accident at work on Thursday the 1st of December. His arm was crushed with compound fracture with partial amputation. He had
surgery at Mass. General the night of the 1st to determine the extent of the damage. At first it was looking like amputation was the direction things were going to go. Surgery
went well for Jeff. The surgeon was able to repair the cut muscle, nerves, etc. in Jeff's arm. The ulna was pulled back into place and set with plate and screws. The radial bone
was a different story, it had to be basically dissected from his tissue and a 2" area of fragment/crushed bone was removed. The radial now has a 2" space. It is plated and
screwed into place now. Jeff will be having skin graph from his thigh area placed on his arm Monday. In 3-4 weeks Jeff will have part of his hip removed and put in his arm.
Then about a year recovery from that point.
Jeff and his wife Terri have 4 beautiful girls ranging form High School to first grade. Station 28 is caring for Jeff and his family but there needs are greater than our capability.
We, Station 28, are asking for monetary assistance for one of our Brothers desperately in need. This money will go to food and bills. Every bit of help will be greatly
appreciated.

As your Regional Officer, I have decided to make our Christmas meet and greet next Sunday December 11 in Westford a fundraiser for Jeff and his family. If there are any
stations that would like to donate any merchandise to be raffled off for Jeff, please contact Adam directly. Next Sunday we will ask for a $10.00 donation from each member
to attend the fundraiser.
As the Regional Officer of Region 6, I have requested and been approved to use my National R/O funds and would like to challenge all stations in Region 6 to make a
$100.00 donation to Station 28 for the relief of Jeff Given.
I fully understand there are stations out there with limited funds, however anything can help. Many stations have merchandise, coins, and other items you sell to make
money for your station. If you cannot afford to send money, send an item we can raffle off. Unfortunately, we have only a week before the fundraiser. Please assist if you
can.
Sincerely,
Ricci B. Ruschioni SR
