42nd Annual Delray Beach St. Patricks parade

The Palm Beach County Firefighters Pipe and Drum Corps will be heading up and organizing the
 
42nd Annual Delray Beach St. Patricks parade on March 13th, 2010.
 
 
This will be a historical parade for Florida firefighters. Each year the parade organizers attach a theme to the parade.  Next years parade theme will be “Firefighter Appreciation” with the parade title: “The Firefightin Irish”.  There will be many fire service items of interest going into this parade.
 
There will be multi-agency fire service Honor Guards carrying the flags, multi-agency fire service Pipe and Drum bands from Florida, as well as from around the country, and internationally - playing together as a “Band Of Brothers”, this will include the Dublin Ireland Fire Brigade Pipe Band who graciously accepted our invitation to come all the way from Ireland to march with us. Uniformed marching firefighters,  antique as well as front line apparatus, Dalmatian dog clubs / owners who will march their dogs and display them on apparatus. Firefighter motorcycle riders with fire helmets riding as a pack. Professional / certified fire clowns, fire service floats, civilian floats, 20’ X 30’ flags that will be hung by multi-agency ladder trucks at key points along the parade route, pre-parade and post parade parties. There’s a lot more going into this parade that will make it the fire service parade of all parades.
 
South Florida has a large population of north eastern and mid western transplants, people who grew up seeing their fire departments in their home town parades. If there were ever a time in America where traditional values and memories of our country when it was at its strongest could be brought back to help our citizens by adding a sense of stability in these unstable times, now is that time and their firefighters are here to help bring back those memories.
 
The Palm Beach County Firefighters Pipe and Drum Corps would like to extend an open invitation to firefighters of all nationalities to march or take part in this parade. So break out that Class-A uniform, march with it, and wear it with pride. These will be photographs you’ll want to give the grandchildren.
