Station 28 held their annual "Basher's" Ride on August 8th, 2009. The ride is held every year in memory of Brian "Basher" Ashe. "Basher" was a Lieutenant with the Lowell MA Fire Department as well as a member of Station 28. Basher died very unexpectedly on May 5th, 2006. Each year Station 28 looks for a local family that usually involes a child. This year Station 28 chose 8 year old Adam Couture. Adam had a kidny transplant 3 years ago and unfortunately his body has rejected the kidney. Recently Adam had to have the kidney removed and he now undergoes dialysis every other day.
